What if you could move thousands of people through a venue without any single spot getting dangerously packed? That was the problem at the Bharath Scouts and Guides Diamond Jubilee Jamboree in Trichy — 15,000+ attendees, and we had to keep the Global Development Village (GDV) from overcrowding.

Sairam Institutions ran the GDV, and our team built the system behind it.

The first ask was simple: red/green buttons to block and unblock venues by capacity. We turned it into something better — a QR system where every patrol got a unique code. Scanners across 14 zones read those codes and auto-blocked a venue the moment it hit capacity. Scanners could unblock too, so flow never stalled.

We had 5 days, from January 22, to design, build, and test the whole thing. A few sleepless nights later, it held up — the Jamboree ran from January 28 to February 3 without the system skipping a beat.

Guidance and support from:

  • Sai Prakash LeoMuthu (CEO)
  • Sambasivam R
  • Dr. V. Brindha Devi
  • MUTHUVEL ARUMUGAM
  • Suthahar P

And my teammates:

  • Vijay S
  • Manoj Kumar D
  • Vikram Bose MSU
  • Rajesh Chidhambaram

A couple of moments I won't forget:

  • Sidd Ahmed, CEO of vDart, stopping by and liking what we'd built
  • Meeting the Education Minister, Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi

Five days, one event, no overcrowding. Easily one of the better things I've built under pressure.
